STAFF at a shopping centre in Durham are sharpening their skills by studying on the job for a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ).
Most of the ambassador staff at Prince Bishops Shopping Centre, distinctive in their smart black uniforms, have been studying for their numeracy and literacy Skills for Life qualifications.
The initial training, provided by Key Training, has been so successful that some of the ambassadors are now taking their studies further with management and customer service NVQs.
Richard Toynbee, centre manager at Prince Bishops, said: “We are very proud of the ambassadors for taking part in the NVQ programme.
“We are keen to support lifelong learning at our centre.”
