IT’S all still to play for as aspiring entrepreneurs prepare for the final challenge of an annual business contest.
The sixth and final challenge of Future Business Magnates 2008-09 will involve youngsters giving a 20- minute presentation to three captains of industry.
With five challenges down, the team from Framwellgate School Durham is leading the league table, eight points ahead of Roseberry Sports and Community College, from Chester-le-Street.
Framwellgate School is hoping to repeat its success of last year, when the Beek Cards business scooped first place.
This year’s team earned 103 points from the fifth challenge, which focused on business finance and included a 15-minute presentation to a panel of “dragons”.
John Tindale, Future Business Magnates co-ordinator, said: “The dragons gave some very interesting feedback from the day and what was interesting was that some of the teams that have not been at the top during the previous challenges really excelled.”
Bangor Academy, from Northern Ireland, finished second on the day, although they are tenth overall.
The fifth challenge winner was the Durham Federation, who are now in third place, 14 points adrift of the leaders.
