TONGUE-TIED entrepreneurs will get tips on how best to present their businesses next week.
Durham Business Club says many company owners worry about making presentations, leading to them missing out on valuable contracts.
It has organised a seminar with experts from A1 Speakers, the only North-East group chartered with Toastmasters International.
Christine Yule, development director at Durham Business Club, said: “Standing up and speaking in front of a group of people, whether it’s four or 400, will either terrify or excite you. Whatever emotions it raises, this event is all about gaining a few tips, building your confidence and having a lot of fun.”
Steve Wilkinson, from A1 Speakers, said: “Public speaking is an incredibly common fear, as widespread as phobias of snakes, spiders and heights, but it’s an essential skill to master if you want to make it in business.”
The event will be held at the Calman Learning Centre, in Durham, on Tuesday. For details, call 0191-388-4488.
