Your city's success
READERS may well imagine that
we were pleased to be named the
North-East's Weekly Newspaper
of the Year in the region's press
awards at Newcastle last weekend.
The recognition from our professional
peers of what our small
staff has achieved is very welcome.
But be assured, we will not be
resting on our laurels.
The Durham Times is very
much a work in progress and we
acknowledge that we can do better
by the city in several areas.
For example, we shall be working
to make our events listings
more comprehensive and also devote
more attention to sport.
Other ideas for improvements are
welcome.
But we would also like to thank
readers for playing an important
part in our success, by welcoming
the new newspaper into your
homes and, in many instances,
getting involved with the important
issues we have recorded over
the past year.
