Putting the buzz in buzzards

LAST week saw a large number of sightings of honey buzzards (pernis apivorus) over County Durham. Honey buzzards are a scarce bird in the UK but across Europe honey buzzards are one of the most common birds of prey.

HAVE you seen many butterflies this summer? It is always risky to accept anecdotal evidence, and I don't know if the official counts will bear this out, but the Wildlife Trust has had reports from concerned members about a lack of butterflies.
