AUDITIONS are to be held for a production of Chess by the Dionysis Theatre Company at the Gala Theatre in Durham.
Written by Tim Rice and ABBA’s Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson, it calls for a cast of about 80 ranging in age from ten to 25.
Audition workshops take place at Darlington Arts Centre on Saturday March 6, and on Saturday, March 13, at Broom Cottages Primary School, Ferryhill, at 10am and 1pm.
The musical is about a romantic triangle between a woman and two chess players during the Cold War. Numbers include I Know Her So Well and One Night in Bangkok. It will be staged for four nights in August.
There is a fee of £5 for to cover the cost of the three-hour workshop with drama, dance and singing sessions.
