DURHAM crime author Roz Southey is joining forces with a library service for a mini-series of talks and murder mystery evenings.
Ms Southey, who is behind the Charles Patterson murder mysteries set in Newcastle in the 18th century, will host a number of events to celebrate Durham library service’s Murder Month.
She said: “Crime exercises a strange fascination for us all.
It inspires a mixture of fear and curiosity, but these events are meant to be pure fun – come along and see if you can solve the mystery.”
There will be prizes for winners of murder mystery events and books on sale at bargain prices. Reading sessions and murder mysteries – giving people the chance to solve crimes – each cost £1 and should be booked in advance.
Ms Southey will give a talk on crime writing fiction at Newton Hall library in Durham at 2.30pm on Thursday (0191-3860-7695).
Other events include a murder mystery at Bishop Auckland Town Hall at 7.30pm on Wednesday, February 17 (01388-602610), followed by a similar event at Crook library at 7.15pm on Monday, February 22.
