Gospel choir for all voices

A GOSPEL choir meets for the first time tomorrow at St Nicholas’ Church, in the Market Place, Durham City.

It is for all abilities, and will initially meet on ten Saturdays, from 10am to noon, in the lower hall.

Children are welcome and the venue is wheelchair-accessible.

The series will lead to a number of small concerts in October.

Kia Macpherson, a St Nicholas’ Church member who is leading the project, said: “The main purpose of this choir is to have fun together.

“It is open to anybody, regardless of musical ability, social ability or level of education.

An added bonus is that singing is really good for you.”

The choir is free to attend.
