Should school be closed?
Parents of children at Hamsteels Primary School have been protesting about its proposed closure. What is your view?

hamsteels primary should stay open they are only 9 short of full capacity and it is a brilliant school. They say numbers are going to drop i know that in 2008 when they want to close school there are more than 10 children wanting to start at hamsteels which is more than the intake.[bold][quote]bold[/quote] [/bold]

Hamsteels Primary is a great little school in a lovely little community.My daughter is doing extremely well at Hamsteels and is very happy here.

Hamsteels is the best school in the world because I learnt how to do joined up writing, miss wadeley is great at teaching save our school please.

Hamsteels Pimary is a brilliant school right on our door step, my 2 children are doing brilliantly,the staff are great the school is the heart of this community if the school closes there is going to be anything left.

Hamsteels primary is the best i am doing really well i have lots of friends,my teacher is great and i will start my sats in 2008 how will i manage if i have to go to a new school.

Hamsteels Primary is the best school ever i do not want it to close.i have got the best teacher in the world,i have loads of friends i think i am doing really well i enjoy school dont make me start a different school i am happy at hamsteels save our school

my 2 children go to hamsteels primary school and they love it why consider closing this school when it has only 9 surpass places they go on about the cost of our school repairs when esh winning school has repairs costing twice as much as ours.please keep hamsteels primary open

Hamsteels is a fanastic school for the children. the teachers know each child as an individual and not merely a number.please keep hamsteels open as the children enjoy going to this school.[bold]bold[/bold]

i have 2 children that go to this school and 1 more in 2008 that wants to go to this school my children love going to hamsteels it is a small school and everyone gets on with each other and it is the main part of the community of hamsteels save our school

How can Claire Vasey, Durham County Councils cabinet member for children and young peoples services say the "county council believes that children and young people are citizens now, not just citizens of the future, and have the right to have their say in matters which affect them, providing them with a greater opportunity to improvement in the services they receive"?
Why in County Hall last Thursday did Claire Vasey not listen to our children's pleas on the letters the children wrote which were read out in the meeting. How can Claire Vasey say that children are citizens now, and have the right to have their say when she did not listen to the children of Hamsteels Primary School?

Cabinet members did not even read our documents and they still voted on closure it is shocking they are only interested in money and power

Clair Vasey cabinet member for children and young persons services should be ashamed of herself how can she support children and young people how can she say children have the right to have there say and be listened too. i agree with dawn.this school should not even have been designated for closure,its the heart of the community,now that heart has just been ripped out by red tape

i don't think my school should close as it is the best school in the world and all the teaxhers are fab how is the pupils going to work hard when they know their school is going to close it's the only best thing on the estate and if you take it away we'll have nothing left,and theres plenty of pupils so i DON'T think you should close hamsteels primary school miss wadeley miss briggs and mrs jhonson are fabulouse teachers![bold]bold[/bold] [quote]quote[/quote]
