Thanks for support
THE Durham Times is
one year old - and
what a year it is has
been.
A quick glance
at the front pages reproduced
on page 10 and 11 illustrates
how the fledgling
newspaper has not been short
of news to report.
Council reorganisation, the debate
about the market place
statues, the proposal for a lap
dancing club and plans for the
development of Mount Oswald
golf course are just some of the
important stories our reporters
have worked upon.
Most gratifying has been the relationship
with our growing
band of readers, who have welcomed
the Durham Times' arrival
and also made it the focus
of serious debate about the issues
mentioned above and
many others.
We accept there is room to improve
the Times further, with
more news from the villages
outside the city centre and better
reporting of the city's vibrant
sports scene. Before our
next birthday, we will be endeavouring
to do this and
would welcome any other suggestions
for improving our service.
As we celebrate our first anniversary
this weekend, the
Durham Times would like to
thank readers and advertisers
for their support.
