Purkayastha help Eden to 26 point haul

Castle Eden put on their Sunday best yesterday to pick up 26 points in the second of a Durham Senior League double header, and it was pro Swaru Purkayastha who did the business, his six wickets crushing Boldon to leave them beaten for a second day in succession.

The victory coincided with results that worked in the leaders’ favour as Felling were beaten at Kimblesworth by two wickets.

Burnmoor bounced back from the disappointment of the previous day with a seven wicket win at Norton, while Whitburn completed the perfect transformation with their second win in 24 hours as Stuart Walker (93) headlined in a five wicket victory over Philadelphia.
