FOR many a Durham fan the results coming through during the wonderful final day of the County Championship would have reached them either through constant refreshing of websites, the Radio Newcastle coverage and in the case of this correspondent, via WAP and a flurry of text messages while somewhat surreally sat at Villa Park awaiting the second half of Sunderland's game.

THE PRO40 victory against Gloucestershire, which due to the nine to five grind of many a worker, may well have been the last glimpses that a lot of fans will have had of Durham this season, but the drab nature of such a one-sided affair hardly reflects the potential excitement of the final two weeks of the County Championship season.
