ALL eyes have been on the four-day York Ebor Festival which got under way on Tuesday and the local runners certainly did themselves proud, with three of the six main winners trained in Yorkshire.

THIRSK trainer David Barron appears to have a very smart handicapper on his hands in the shape of Poet’s Place who made a mockery of the handicapper when running out a very impressive winner of the 6f handicap at Haydock last Saturday.
