AN EQUESTRIAN centre under new ownership is launching a new season of events with a visit from a top international dressage rider.
Paul Hayler, horse trainer and judge, will attend the event with his horses to provide a demonstration.
It will be the first event at Northallerton Equestrian Centre, in Myers Lane, Yafforth, since it changed ownership.
Margot Tiffany and her niece, Tina Walker, recently took over the 23-acre centre, which has 29 stables, a large indoor school with a viewing gallery, a large outdoor menage, a show jumping field and cross-country course.
Ms Tiffany is an international judge who has recently returned from teaching in China. Before that, she managed a large equestrian centre in Lancashire for 16 years, and later one in Ireland, before moving back to North Yorkshire in 2008.
Mrs Walker, the business brain of the partnership, has always had an interest in horses. She is also a British dressage organiser and her children compete.
The pair, who want to bring British eventing back to the Northallerton Equestrian Centre, will be organising competitions and offering training for all levels and in all disciplines.
Tickets for the Paul Hayler event, which takes place today at 7pm, cost £20 in advance or £25 on the night, including refreshments. For more information, or to book, call Ian Brown on 07878-938471, or Tina Walker on 07974-260129, or visit northallertonequestriancentre.co.uk.
