GRASSROOTS sports clubs are to be honoured at an awards dinner taking place next month.
Clubs, coaches, volunteers and schools are to be honoured at the County Durham Sport Awards Dinner, which is to take place at Locomotion, the National Railway Museum at Shildon on October 10.
Each of the seven districts in County Durham has now announced their district winners, who will compete for the county title at the ceremony.
The awards provide an opportunity to celebrate the successes across the region and say thank you to those who contribute to the development of sport in each district.
Former England goalkeeper Peter Shilton will be the guest speaker, which will be compered by BBC Look North sports reporter Jeff Brown.
For ticket information, contact Jeanette Turner on 0191-301-8826.
