Plans to develop this sensitive site near Durham city centre have been submitted - and run into opposition. What do you think of proposals for Elvet Waterside?
I have received a glossy brochure from the developers which states that the Elvet swimming baths are closed. Mysteriously there are still groups of schoolchildren and other local residents entering the building and coming out an hour or so later with slightly wet hair. I wonder if any readers can explain why reality does not seem to match up with the developers viewpoint.

I too received a brochure from Developers Banks and noticed the same 'inaccuracy'amongst several others. On page 9 it is stated that the Playgroup which currently operates in a hut on the site are to benefit from 'Improved new facilities'. This last week we hear the Playgroup is to close as Durham University and Banks between them have been unable to find anywhere for them to go. This is shameful.
